New Years Eve
New Years Eve. Some years I’ve spent it in front of the
television, other years at the pinball museum. This
year, I was in a skateboard shop in the East Village.
My foggy head still recalls a few things about the
evening. A stunning amount of drink was consumed and we
played a lot of pinball. Like a whole lot. I did a
double take when I looked at my phone and it was 4 in
the morning.
The crowd was awesome – that small but passionate cross
section of pinball and skating enthusiasts. I’d never
before seen so many physically fit pinball players in
one place.
Of course, while revelry was in abundance, good pinball
play can be hard to come by at 4 am. I burned through
two 10-dollar rolls of quarters managing scores that
would have only been impressive on EMs. When you’re
aiming for the slot machine on Twilight Zone and somehow
end up backhanding the left orbit, you know you’re in
trouble. Good times.
Big thanks to Jon and Jill at Reciprocal for a super rad
New Years Eve. Happy New Year, everyone. Have a great 2012.

No comments on the afterparty? Or are the details too hazy? l)
I just got back into town from NYC so I haven’t been down there yet. That said, it’s super easy to update the code.
Does PPM have the latest code on their transformers ?
Yeah, it was at Reciprocal in Manhattan. Not sure if it was clear but I’m in NYC at the moment.
They had Tron, Creature, Twilight Zone, Fish Tales, Dr Dude, WWF and Doctor Who. They were all on 50 cent play. They’re all owned by Jon who owns Reciprocal, except for WWF.
Hey Jonny!! Were these pins owned by the Skate Shop? Since you said you blew $20 they were on paid play? Fill us in & what were the titles & where is this place??!!
