Rumors of Big Lebowski Pinball Game
Pinsider Bakushan recently posted this pic of a teaser flyer which he received at Pinball Expo.
If you go to the web site: http://dudepinball.com/ there’s a mailing list sign-up and a countdown timer currently set at 65 days from now, which I believe is Christmas Day. I’m, not part of the cult Lebowski so maybe someone more familiar with ‘His Dudeness’ can comment if there’s some significance to Christmas in the film.
So there it is, there may yet be another new pinball game vying for your new-in-box dollars. It’s just like, my opinion man, but despite pinball’s surge in popularity in the last few years, I’m starting to wonder if the market can continue to absorb all these new games at the frantic pace they’re being announced.

Real Talk: No. The Industry can’t sustain many more new titles/devs coming out, partially because it is still stuck in some old fashioned “good enough” philosophies. The industry needs their big companies to know how to market and promote in a modern environment, that can take advantage of the current growth and expand pinball’s exposure to the greater market. All the new little devs need an industry leader to grow the market. Who is that gonna be?
If this is Stern/JJP putting this BL promo out, I will be shocked and delighted for them, because this viral marketing is something you’d expect from a veteran video game/film company and will show me that Stern/JJP are ready to be big boys…and not just being comfortable being the big fish in a very small pond.
If it is a new company, Stern/JJP need to take notes and get their marketing/PR/promotional teams out of 1993 and into the year 2013 pronto. This is an easy, cheap and modern way to create buzz.

I’ve got that flyer too and hope it’s a real machine since I freaking LOVE The Big Lebowski – guess we’ll have to wait and see! Lots of talk on the pinside forums though…
