Retro Pics – PAPA 4

Head over to the PAPA blog and check out a recently un-cached collection of PAPA 4 pictures, along with an interview of the winner, Bowen Kerins. Bowen Kerins was attending Stanford at the time.

Even thought PAPA 15 is coming up in just a couple months, that doesn’t mean that PAPA 4 took place 11 years ago.  There were multi-year gaps during which no PAPA was held, so PAPA 4 was nearly 20 years ago, in 1994.

 

Hal Erickson, another bay area player, also played at PAPA that year and made the top four in A Division.

    Wow, 1994, back when the games were brand new! I bet nobody back then thought that tournaments would still be using essentially the same range of games, nearly 20 years later….
